Podcast #6 – Know the Word of God as “Logos” and “Rhema”

Martin Luther once said of the Bible, "It's alive, it speaks to me, it has feet, it runs after me; it has hands, it lays hold of me." Whether or not the Bible is alive to you depends on how you handle it and what you know concerning its nature. In this podcast we cover two Greek words - λογος and ρημα. Find out why understanding the significance of these two words will help you touch the real essence of the Bible.

λογος (logos) - the constant word

John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; Your λογος is truth.

John 15:3 You are already clean because of the λογος which I have spoken to you.

Hebrews 4:12 For the λογος of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

ρημα (rhema) - the instant word

Romans 10:17 So faith comes out of hearing, and hearing through the ρημα of Christ.

Matthew 26:75 And Peter remembered the ρημα which Jesus had said, Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times. And he went out and wept bitterly.

Ephesians 6:17 And receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the ρημα of God.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for the logos Word and the rhema Word. Amen. May it dwell in our hearts richly, instantly, and constantly for Your expression, Lord Jesus. Amen.
