College Training: Seeing Christ Causes Us to Take a Different Way
"And after they heard the king, they went their way, and behold, the star which they saw at its rising led them until it came and stood over the place where the child was. And when they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy... And falling down, they worshipped Him; and opening their treasures, they offered gifts to Him, gold and frankincense and myrrh... And because they had been divinely instructed in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed by another way to their country."—Matthew 2:9-12
There is a footnote on Matthew 2:12 which says that once we have seen Christ, we never take the same way but always take another way. Our seeing of Christ causes us to take a different way. My testimony concerning the recent college training is that we saw Christ. And I testify that I also saw many college students who came to the college training in one way, but departed by another way. After the training they were profoundly different. They had seen Christ. And thus in the meetings after the training they were different. They sang the hymns differently than before—they sang with their whole being. They prayed differently. They served differently. It wasn't a momentary inspiration. But rather, it caused them to depart from the training by a different way. They came back as seekers, as enjoyers of grace, as ones practicing to exercise their spirit and enjoy the Lord regularly.
We eagerly look forward to next year's college training and anticipate that it will be twenty times higher, richer, fuller and even beyond what we could ask or think!
