7 Reasons Why Companions Help Us - Part 3

Reason 6 - Our companions help us to overcome the demonic diet in the world (Daniel 1:8, 12-15, 17):

8 But Daniel set his heart not to defile himself with the king's choice provision and with the wine that the king drank, so he requested of the leader of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

College Training: Christ Lives in Me

Praise the Lord for revealing so many aspects of Himself to us and in us at the college-aged training. I am beginning to realize that I have an exceedingly rich Father who wishes to dispense all that He has to me. Simply responding to His compelling love, trusting in Him who is faithful to work out all things, and presenting ourselves as open vessels make us glorious inheritors of the hearing of faith.

College Training: Seeing Christ Causes Us to Take a Different Way

"And after they heard the king, they went their way, and behold, the star which they saw at its rising led them until it came and stood over the place where the child was. And when they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy... And falling down, they worshipped Him; and opening their treasures, they offered gifts to Him, gold and frankincense and myrrh... And because they had been divinely instructed in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed by another way to their country."—Matthew 2:9-12

Spending Time with the Saints in Europe

In May 2009, the Lord granted the opportunity for a sister and me to travel to Europe. Our original plan was to visit a family, enjoy ourselves, and have a nice vacation. However, the Lord had other plans for us. We instead got knit and blended with the saints in Europe! I can truly say that spending time with the saints was the best part of our trip. We didn’t even have to be in a meeting or anything; just being with the saints such as eating dinner, talking with one another, or just even walking somewhere together was so sweet. The saints gladly opened their homes to us on short notice, provided us with food, and told us to help ourselves to anything. I felt so comfortable and right at home that many times I’d forget that I was in a foreign country. The saints usually weren’t able to show us around during the day because they had to work, so dinner was usually the time when we’d fellowship together. Even though the saints were tired from the day, they would still spend time with us whenever they could.

Attending the College Training as a Graduated Senior

The college training for me was the best possible way to start off my college years. Before going to the college training, one of my fears was that I would get lost in the world. I was scared that I would get too busy and that I would forget all about my spirit. But, by going to the college training, not only did I learn practical ways to enjoy the Lord at any moment, I also got the chance to interact with the brothers and sisters in my locality.
